Introduction
On 26 July 2025 the Georgian Robotics Association organised ROBO BATTLE 2025 at Radio City | District 4 as part of Tbilisi Digital Fest — a combat robot championship in three weight classes, a SUMO tournament, RC car races and more than 10,000 visitors.
One day, one technology festival
On 26 July 2025, from 11:00 to 20:00, the Georgian Robotics Association (GRA) organised the one-day technology festival ROBO BATTLE 2025 at Radio City | District 4 in Tbilisi, as part of Tbilisi Digital Fest. Entry was free with registration.
More than 10,000 visitors came. The day featured a combat robot championship, a SUMO robot tournament, RC car races, a drone exhibition and flying zone, interactive and demo zones, exhibitions and technology workshops.
Combat robots: three weight classes
The combat robot championship had three weight classes:
- Beetleweight — 0.5–1.5 kg;
- Hobbyweight — 1.5–5 kg;
- Featherweight — 5–15 kg.
Participants built their own remote-controlled combat robots and competed as teams (2–5 members, aged 16+) in a one-day contest. Because of the strong interest, registration was extended from 15 May to 29 May. 92 teams (315 participants) registered for the combat robot competition.
It was the association's first combat robot championship.
SUMO tournament
ROBO BATTLE 2025 also hosted a SUMO robot tournament, open from age 14, school teams included. Robots had to be autonomous, in two classes:
- up to 0.5 kg — fitting in a 15×15 cm box;
- 0.5–3 kg — fitting in a 25×25 cm box.
49 teams (132 participants) registered for the SUMO tournament. More about SUMO in our beginner's guide.
Prize fund and media
The ROBO BATTLE 2025 prize fund was 25,000 GEL. Euronews Georgia covered the event on air, and our media partners reported on the festival.
