Introduction

RageByte wins its group — Georgia is in the final stage
Team Georgia is in the final stage of RoboChallenge 2026! The national team's RageByte finished the group stage of the Mega Sumo 3 kg category in first place at one of Europe's largest international robotics championships, held in Bucharest, Romania. Tomorrow, 1 November, the Georgian engineers compete in the final matches.
This is Team Georgia's first time at RoboChallenge, and winning the group is a big success for Georgian robotics: more than 60 robots from 14 countries compete in Mega Sumo — among them teams from Brazil, Mexico, the USA, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Turkey and Romania.
A tense fight: from a defeat to two wins
In Group 5, RageByte faced three strong rivals: PHOENIX (Robotu Skola, Latvia), Shogun (Nanolabs, Romania) and AzeRobot (AIRO 2026, Azerbaijan). The fight stayed tense until the very last match:
- RageByte — AzeRobot 0:2. The championship began with a defeat, and the team had to turn things around in the next matches.
- RageByte — PHOENIX 2:0. The Georgian sumo robot beat its Latvian rival in both rounds.
- RageByte — Shogun 2:1. The tightest match went all three rounds, and RageByte beat the Romanian team 2:1.
RageByte and PHOENIX finished the group level — both with 6 points and 4:3 in rounds — and RageByte won their head-to-head match 2:0. First place in the group table belongs to Team Georgia.

Who RageByte are and what Mega Sumo is
RageByte is one of Team Georgia's teams. Its members are Dachi Nazrishvili, Eto Chakhvashvili, Misho Kalandarishvili and Nini Gotsadze — congratulations on winning the group! The national team is made up of the winning teams of the Georgian Robotics Association's (GRA) national championship; read how the team got ready for Bucharest here: Team Georgia at RoboChallenge 2026.
Mega Sumo is one of the most spectacular categories in robotics: sumo robots of up to 3 kg clash on a round ring and try to push the opponent out of it. Power, speed, sensors and precise programming decide who wins. See how such a robot works in our guide: how to build a sumo robot.
